FRANKLIN COUNTY BAR ASSOCIATION STATEMENT ON EQUALITY

The FCBA joins with the PBA and other attorney groups across the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and around the country in support of equality for all, equal access to justice, and the fair and equal application of the rule of law.

We strongly denounce racism in all forms, and pledge to support those who work tirelessly to ensure the equal application of the law to all people, regardless of race, religion, gender, sexual orientation, or any other characteristic.

Instances of racism and injustice should never be tolerated, and we should all come together to heal our wounds, end violence, and eliminate racial injustice.

We support peaceful protests against racial injustice and encourage individuals to exercise their constitutional right to peacefully assemble in order to promote equality for all.

Each member of the FCBA has taken an oath to uphold and defend the Constitution, and we proudly acknowledge the responsibility we share in ensuring equal justice and the equal application of the law to all citizens of Franklin County. We hold this truth to be self-evident – that all of us are created equal.
