President Judge Meyers has issued invitations for the June 19th Juneteenth Observation and the June 21st Observation of the Declaration of Independence and the U.S. Constitution.
The Administrative Office of the Pennsylvania Courts (AOPC) is offering a series of online workshops that show court-appointed guardians how to use the new Guardianship Tracking System (GTS). The GTS makes it possible for guardians of adult incapacitated persons to file inventory and annual reports online from any internet-accessible computer.
Attorney Thomas B. Steiger, Jr. (“Tom”) was honored with the 2022 Edmund C. Wingerd, Jr. Award during the annual admission ceremony of the Franklin County Bar Association (FCBA) held on December 2, 2022 at the Franklin County Courthouse in Chambersburg.

On November 16th, David Trevaskis, Pro Bono Coordinator of the Pennsylvania Bar Association, awarded George Glen with the 2022 Pro Bono Award in recognition of his service to our community. Mr. Glen was nominated by FCBA’s pro bono committee, Franklin County Legal Services, MidPenn Legal Services, and the Law Offices of Women in Need.
On November 11th FCBA YLD hosted its first Veterans Day WFH event. Franklin County veterans and their spouses were invited to the FCBA office to work with attorney volunteers and our WFH cooridinator Alexandra Sipe to obtain essential documents: a Will, Living Will, and Health Care and Financial Powers of Attorney (or any combination thereof). This event was co-sponsored by Bybel Rutledge LLP and the FCBA YLD.
On Wednesday, May 18, 2022 a ceremony was held in Courtroom 1 of the Franklin County Judicial Center.

Attorney Martha Baum “Marty” Walker was belatedly honored with the 2020 Edmund C. Wingerd Jr. Award during the annual Admissions Ceremony of the Franklin County Bar Association (FCBA) held on December 3rd 2021. Last year’s annual meeting was held remotely due to the COVID-19/coronavirus pandemic, and the FCBA determined that it was appropriate to belatedly honor Ms. Walker in person.
