The Pennsylvania Commission on Sentencing will be offering a training in Franklin County. SENTENCING IN PENNSYLVANIA

This seminar will provide an overview of the basics of sentencing in Pennsylvania, which will include discussion on sentencing structure (e.g., minimum/maximum penalties, place of confinement, and sentencing related statutes (e.g., County and State Intermediate Punishment and Recidivism Risk Reduction Incentive).
This seminar will also include a comprehensive explanation of the Sentencing Guidelines, to include Offense Gravity Score, Prior Record Score, and sentence recommendations focused on the 7th Edition Sentencing Guidelines, its amendments and supplement. Exercises are incorporated into the seminar to better assist in developing a deeper understanding of both the framework of the Sentencing Guidelines, as well as the practical application of its policies.
Target Audience: This seminar targets individuals who will be required to understand the Sentencing Guidelines as part of their job as well as individuals who need to become more familiar with and understand general sentencing policies and the guidelines.
As noted, this seminar addresses the fundamentals of sentencing and the Sentencing Guidelines; however this seminar can serve as a review for someone who has not taken a sentencing seminar recently.
Time and Credit Hours: All seminars have the same start time and end time, 8:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. Training Hours CLE/CJE Credits = 6
Seminars are free-of-charge to anyone involved in Pennsylvania’s criminal justice system.
