The Franklin County Bar Association’s Young Lawyers Division is hosting Law Day for Franklin County 8th graders! The event will be held on May 1st from 9 – 11:30 a.m. at the Franklin County Courthouse.
Students attending Law Day will learn first-hand what it is like to be a member of a jury while watching a Mock Trial put on by members of the Franklin County YLD.
We are pleased to announce that this year we are including a Law Day Poster Contest. The posters will be judged by members of the Young Lawyers Division of the Franklin County Bar Association and prizes will be awarded for the posters which best illustrate this year’s theme of “Your Vote, Your Voice, Our Democracy: The 19th Amendment at 100.”
The goal of Law Day is to engage students while educating them about their legal rights and their civic responsibilities as citizens of the United States of America, while helping them to understand the importance of equal access to a system that is the basis of this great nation.
